Islamabad, April 30, 2025 — Indian Air Force (IAF) fighter jets reportedly conducted aggressive low-altitude patrols over the illegally Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) region on Tuesday morning but swiftly retreated after coming close to the Line of Control (LoC), according to military sources cited by the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP).

The provocative maneuver comes amid heightened tensions between Pakistan and India, following Islamabad’s claim that it has received credible intelligence of an imminent Indian strike. The Pakistan Armed Forces remain on high alert, and surveillance across the LoC has been intensified.

According to APP, the IAF jets were detected by Pakistan’s advanced radar systems as they conducted a brief patrol near key sectors along the LoC. The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) reportedly scrambled its own fighter aircraft in response, prompting the Indian jets to alter course and return to their airbase without engaging.

Defense analysts believe the IAF’s movement was intended as a show of strength rather than a direct offensive, but the risk of miscalculation remains dangerously high. “Any such air activity near the LoC, particularly during periods of heightened tension, carries significant risk,” said retired Air Marshal Asim Khattak in a televised interview. “The fact that PAF responded swiftly shows Pakistan’s readiness to defend its airspace.”

The incident comes just a day after Pakistan’s Foreign Office warned of a potential Indian military operation within 36 hours, citing reliable intelligence inputs. While New Delhi has not issued an official statement on the matter, sources in Islamabad suggest the patrol may have been intended to test Pakistan’s preparedness.

The Pakistani military’s Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has not released a formal statement regarding the incident, but security officials have emphasized that Pakistan’s air defense and strike capabilities remain fully operational and vigilant.

APP reports that diplomatic channels have been activated, with Pakistan informing international stakeholders, including the United Nations, about the latest developments and urging restraint from the Indian side.

As tensions escalate and the region remains on edge, calls are growing from the international community for both countries to exercise restraint and avoid actions that could lead to unintended conflict.

The situation continues to develop, and further military or diplomatic responses are expected in the coming hours..
